THE REVERBERATIAN GATHERING
Document of Understanding for the Cooperation of the Reverberatian Gathering
This understanding is kept among those who walk the Way and the Word together, who keep a green table, and who pray without ceasing. It is not a law laid upon us but a covenant we hold in common, and it is kept not by rule but by care.
The Way of the Gathering
We gather not as strangers but as one household, each voice a thread in the same cloth.
We speak to one another in gentleness and we listen twice as long as we speak, that no member be left to sit alone.
When we differ, we differ as those who share one table, and we let the Way set our pace rather than our urgency.
What is spoken in the room stays in the room, and what is carried by one is carried by all.
Where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them. — Matthew 18:20
THE WAYThe Way is like water: it nourishes all things and does not contend. — Tao Te Ching 8
The Garden and Its Fruits
We keep a life-preserving garden and eat from the green table, that no creature’s life be taken for our comfort.
We tend the orchard of the spirit — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control — and we let each fruit ripen in its own season.
We care for the ground, the water and the small lives within it, for the garden was planted in the beginning and given to us to keep.
What we grow, we give away; what we are given, we share.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith. — Galatians 5:22
THE WAYThe ten thousand things rise and fall without cease, and the Way does not claim them as its own. — Tao Te Ching 51
The Prayers and the Year
We keep sixty-six prayers of twenty-two words, five days to each, and we walk the year together.
We keep the prayer box open, where every petition is received and held — by name, or in silence, as the one who prays wishes.
We keep thirty-five days of service, a fast of the hands, that our prayers be carried by our works.
We rest one day in seven to give thanks, and we open and close the year at the two boxes that hold the way, the truth and the life.
Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks. — 1 Thessalonians 5:17
THE WAYA journey of a thousand miles begins beneath one’s feet. — Tao Te Ching 64
As He parted the waters for Moses, so too He will part the waters for you. For He is Salvation and Sustainer — and this understanding is kept in the name of Jesus Messiah Son of Ezekiel.
